Exchange:Setting up Outlook Part 1
From Saskaweb Wiki
Configuring your Email client
Outlook 2003
What we'll be doing
Microsoft Exchange was built for serving clients within a local area network. With newer technology, Microsoft added the capability of serving clients over a wide area network like the internet. What we'll be doing in Part 1 is setting up a new profile for your Saskaweb Exchange account. Once this is completed, you will be prompted to choose your profile when you start Outlook. Don't worry -- once we've finished all the parts you will be able to safely remove your old profile.
- Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Mail
- Select 'Show Profiles'
- Create a new profile by clicking 'Add'. Enter a name for the new profile

- Select 'Add a New Email Account' and click 'Next'
- Select Microsoft Exchange Server

- The Exchange server is oberon.saskaweb.com. You should have 'Cached Exchange Mode' checked. Enter in the username provided to you by Saskaweb. Click 'More Settings'. Expect a one minute delay here as Outlook realizes the server is not local.

- After clicking 'More Settings' you will get a window with additional options. Go to the 'Connection' tab and and check 'Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP'. Then click 'Exchange Proxy Settings'

- Complete the Exchange Proxy settings as seen below. Note the change from NTLM to Basic Authentication
- Click OK, then Apply and OK

- Great now you can click 'Next'

- Add Finish
- Now we're back to our Profiles setup. Ensure 'Prompt for a profile' is selected. Apply and OK
Now that we've configured Outlook to use the Saskaweb Exchange server it's on to tweaking settings within Outlook. At this point you should be able to start Outlook, choose your new profile, and log in to the Exchange server using the account information provided. If you are unable to connect to the Exchange server at this stage, please contact our technical support.
